Marilyn J. Wooley, PhD
Dr. Wooley received her Ph.D. in Psychology in 1977 from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. She has practiced as a licensed psychologist in Redding, CA since 1981 (CA License PSY 5781). Professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association , Association for the Advancement of Psychology Leadership Redding, CA (1989 Graduate), Sigma Xi , Mensa, International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, and First Responders Support Network (Board Member).
Her specialties include working with first responders and treating post traumatic stress injuries. She provides and teaches Critical Incident Stress Management, and performs forensic and pre-employment psychological evaluations.
Dr. Wooley is also in the process of writing a manuscript about how first responders heal from posttraumatic stress and reach post traumatic growth. (For a sample, please go to the "How Heroes Heal" tab.)
Dood joined our staff in 2009. He is a Goldendoodle who enjoys his work providing comfort and companionship to humans. He is hypoallergenic and has a good sense of humor.
Dave Nervo, Psy.D.

Dr. Nervo's primary focus is working with veterans and first responders suffering From PTSD, anxiety and depression using cognitive therapy and stress reduction techniques including progressive relaxation and biofeedback to help clients understand the relationship between body and mind.
Dr. Nervo's experience serving with the US Marine Corps in Vietnam gives him insight and empathy into individuals with PTSD and post military challenges. In 1977, he began his work with veterans through a grass roots organization called Flower of the Dragon. He provided counseling and various supportive services assistance to veterans for over ten years.
Dr. Nervo worked for Sonoma County Behavioral Health for six years in the county jail assessing and monitoring inmates. He then worked for Mendocino County Behavioral Health for three and a half years as a clinician doing assessments, working in the crisis unit, and providing case management.
In 2003, Dr. Nervo established Legacy House operating two licensed board and care residential facilities housing mental health clients and homeless veterans. For over ten years care was provided in Ukiah, Redding, and Red Bluff (when Ukiah was closed).
Dr. Nervo continued his work with homeless veterans as Site Director for Redding Veterans Resource Center for two years. He oversaw the successful coordination of housing related site services ensuring that the needs of the clients were met.
Dr. Nervo has a BA in Sociology from Sonoma State University and a Doctorate in Psychology from the Professional School of Psychology.
He has also been trained as a personal and business coach through Coach U and enjoys helping individuals set and obtain personal and business goals.
